MY 'FIRST' BOAT TRIP

A couple of weekends ago, I got to have a ride in Pop Mark's boat - a real one this time, not just a pretend one around the back yard! It's not my first official trip on a boat since I rode the ferry in Brisbane, but it's my first time on a little boat and my first time wearing my very own life jacket. Daddy calls it a personal flotation device but those words are a little big for a bubby like me (at least for the next couple of weeks).I was a little unsure once we actually go out on the water, but there were lots of warm cuddles to help me feel safe, some from Daddy and some from Gran. I was most impressed with the whistle on my jacket - I am practising so I can use it all on my own.

And after our cruise around the estuary, we motored back through the canals to the boat ramp next to Mummy and Daddy's old house in Waterside Drive. I was pretty impressed with myself having survived my maiden voyage as you can see in the picture above.

Time to go and catch some sleep, that Mummy keeps waking me up in the middle of the night, or is it the other way around...

Love,
Hannah

FIRST BIRTHDAY PRESSIES

Mum had big plans after my birthday. She was so excited at all the wonderful pressies I was given and she had plans to take pictures of me with everyone's gifts and then to send those pics out on thank you cards - I am sure you are all still waiting for said cards since she still hasn't finished that! She's a bit of a shocker for having hundreds of unfinished projects on the go at once. So here are just a couple of the photos she has gotten around to taking.

The first is of me playing with my Mega Blocks from Mel and Jamie. I'm not very good at building yet, but man, can I demolish a tower in record time! A real demolitions expert. Here I am again, this time with the funky Little People SUV that Uncle Dean bought me. You should hear me make the car sound. Brooommmm brooommmm.
And this last pic (for this post anyway) shows my puzzle expertise - that and it is an absolute study of concentration.

SPOTTY, DOTTY BUBBY

Since I just turned one, Mummy took me to have my 12 month immunisations - I'm not sure that I want to have any more birthdays if that's what happens! Did you know they stick needles in you! Three of them, one in both of my legs and, as if that's not bad enough, another one in my arm!

To make matters worse, I had a reaction to the measles shot. Apparently it's pretty common and one in 20 have the same reaction, but my doctor says mine was the best he has ever seen! I had a really high temperature for a couple of days which wasn't any fun at all. Then I broke out in a crazy rash. Mum took some pictures of my spots but says that the photos don't really do it justice.
By the time the rash came I was starting to feel a little better, I even had some fun in the big girl bath with my new toys - the letters that stick on the side of the tub are great, even if Mummy and Daddy really do write some silly things sometimes!
Oh well, at least such a strong reaction means I have a super immune system - that's what Dr Parry said, anyway.

OUT AND ABOUT

Thought it was about time for another post, even though mum has really started to slack off on the photos. This first picture is one of my new favourites. It's me on the South Perth foreshore and you can see beautiful Perth in the background - not bad really, is it! I had a fantastic time running around at the park. So much room to move, although Mum was a bit of a piker and wouldn't let me go in the water! We have also just recently met my newest friend - Amelie. Her mum and dad (Ricky and Laura) are friends with my mum and dad. We got to go and visit her in hospital when she was just a couple of days old - she is pretty little but makes up for that with how cute she is. She was born 6 days after my birthday so we even share a birthday week and I can't wait to play with her lots and lots when she get a little bigger. Daddy thought that seeing a new baby made Mummy clucky (and maybe it did just a little bit), I'm not really sure what that means but I don't think we have time to have a new baby at our house just yet, they seem to be very hard work!
Time for me to run, and by that, I literally mean run. I am running all over the place now. My favourite new game is to dial someone on the phone and then run away when Mummy comes to catch me - it's so much fun! I wonder what else I can do to make her chase me...

Love,
Hannah.
